Job Description

Job Title: Piping/Civil/Structural Supervisor

Reporting to: Projects Construction Superintendent

Location: Gabon (Port-Gentil amp; On-Site)

Role: Contract opportunity (12 months) on a rotational basis.

Our London-based projects team seeks a highly skilled individual with a robust background in providing specialist construction services focusing on the piping, civil and structural scope primarily in brown-field related work. In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of construction activities for specific projects which are underway in Gabon.

Whilst reporting to the Projects Construction Superintendent based in Gabon, you will undertake the role and responsibility of Piping/Civil/Structural Supervisor in Gabon, where you will spend your time between our offices in Port-Gentil and the project location, on site.

In this capacity, some of your principal service deliverables would be as follows:

  • Supervise the contractor's teams during day-to-day activities.
  • Ensure safe working practices are employed by the contractor and attend periodic safety meetings held by the contractor and/or the company.
  • Ensure compliance with the agreed programme and compile detailed progress reports as required.
  • Liaise with the Operations personnel on matters regarding the works, including the issue of work permits and the adherence to the agreed procedures.
  • Verify all works are in accordance with the company Engineering standards:

- Civil foundation designs and installation works including welding works, both Structural and Piping.

- Painting and Coating of steelwork plates, structural forms and piping.

- Agree and approve completion of Scope of Work activities by the contractor and document same.

- Ensure all works are inspected in accordance with the company Inspection requirements including the supervision of the NDT Inspectors. Verify all Inspection reports are compiled and presented for approval.

- Identify all Non-conformance with the agreed standards and procedures and that these are documented and agreed by the Project Engineer

- Ensure all Technical Queries raised by the contractor are documented and approved by the Project.

- Ensure all changes to scope and drawings are recorded for later as-building.

- Maintain files of all Project related documentation, including reports, memos and drawings to ensure relevant information is available for the Project close-out report and assist Project team in compilation of same.

Requirements

  • HNC or equivalent in the Engineering discipline.
  • 10 years of experience in the oil amp; gas industry, with particular emphasis on mechanical construction, HSE and QA/Q.
  • The ability to communicate fluently to a high standard in both written and verbal French amp; English.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of the construction process, primarily on brown-field projects.
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role working in a multicultural environment.
  • Maintain an uncompromising attitude and adherence to HSSE requirements and procedures.
